NAMI Montana would like to express our sincere thanks to Senator Jon Tester and the Senate Veterans Committee for inviting Matt Kuntz, our Executive Director, to testify on veterans’ suicide prevention.
We are deeply appreciative of the opportunity to comment on this critical issue and share our vision for the future. The video of the hearing is available at this link. Matt’s testimony starts at 28:45. We are also deeply thankful for all of the work that Emily Blair, NAMI’s Manager of Military and Veterans’ Policy of NAMI, did in preparing Matt’s testimony and ensuring that NAMI presents a cohesive, powerful voice to policymakers who are working to save veterans lives.

While in DC, Matt attended the Cohen Veterans Care Summit and also Congressional meetings with fellow members of the Coalition to Heal Invisible Wounds. We are excited to see the energy and momentum around preventing veterans suicide across the country. We are really hopeful about the direction that this effort is headed.
