Montana Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
The Montana Legislature Has Passed the Halfway Point. There's Lots of Momentum for Mental Health.
NAMI Montana has been working hard at the Montana Legislature for Montanans who live with mental health conditions and their families.
NAMI Montana and our allies have been working on some of these policy efforts for years. We are focusing on the "Consistent Six" policy goals.
Expand mental health crisis beds
Stabilize mental health care financing through Certified Community Behavioral Health Centers (CCBHCs)
Expand forensic mental health evaluations
Strengthen school-based mental health care
Use acuity-based payments for to help Montana mental health care clinicians serve youth at-risk of being sent out of state
Expand group homes
You can get a full video update on the efforts up to the Legislative halfway point here.
Here is a video that we did in conjunction with the Montana Hospital Association in support of Medicaid Expansion.
You Are Not Alone: Find NAMI Support Groups and Education Programs
NAMI is known for our amazing support and education programs. These programs serve both people who live with mental health conditions and their families.
These programs are completely free and offered both in-person and online.
